The drama Parts Per Billion, starring Frank Langella, Gena Rowlands, Rosario Dawson, Josh Hartnett, and Penn Badgley, is expected to begin filming in and around Detroit, MI next month.

The movie is about “three couples facing a devastating war and the effect it has on their lives and relationships.”

Producer Molly Hassell has made two previous films in Michigan, Vamps, starring Alicia Silverstone and Giant Mechanical Man with Jenna Fischer.

Parts Per Billion was approved for $300,000 in Michigan film incentives.

Penn Badgley has opened up about his starring role as Jeff Buckley in Greetings From Tim Buckley.

The film recounts the days leading up to Jeff’s 1991 tribute concert for his late father Tim Buckley (Ben Rosenfield), also starring Imogen Poots, Kate Nash, Frank Wood, Frank Bello, William Sadler and Norbert Leo Butz.

Badgley admitted to New York Magazine’s Vulture that he knew he could portray the late musician on the big screen.

“I have to choose my words carefully, but I mean this in just the most plain way – I knew I could do it,” he said.
